Docent Program

Docents share a love of learning and meeting new people as Museum guides at the Florida Holocaust Museum. This group of dedicated docents are individuals who have the opportunity to help school children and other visitors to:

  • understand the dangers of hatred and bigotry,
  • experience powerful art exhibits and
  • meet people from all over the world.

Currently the Museum is accepting applications for the upcoming docent class. Individuals interested in becoming Docents at the Museum, guiding groups and classes throughout the poignant permanent exhibit, History, Heritage and Hope, and the exciting traveling art and cultural exhibits, are invited to call the Florida Holocaust Museum for further information.

The course was established to enhance an individual’s knowledge and thoroughly prepare docents for a rigorous workout of questions about the Holocaust, World War II and the Museum. Included in the curriculum are meetings with survivors, special guest presentations and multi-media demonstrations. Books for the required reading may be borrowed from the Museum Library or purchased at the Museum Store.
